Last Thursday, as I talked about in this post, our high school football team was the “Rival of the Week” game on ESPNU!
We played our BIGGEST rival in the district.
This games was one that we had to win to maybe have a chance at going to the play-offs. It was a team that we have beaten 3 yrs in a row.
The Wildcats warming up for the big game!
These pictures are of the banner that was along the rail of the visitors side. It had pictures of all the Senior football players and cheerleaders. There are of a lot of them this year! How cool to be on TV your senior year! You could see this REALLY good on TV! If you click on the pictures you can see the banner better!!!
and here come the WILDCATS!!!!!
It was a very close game especially in the beginning! The defense of both teams was playing their hearts out. It was 0-0 at the end of the 1st quarter!
During the 3rd quarter the drum lines of each band had a face-off. Not sure who won but they both sounded good!
My best friend’s children go to the opposing school district. None of them are in high school yet but the rival is still there. She went to school with me and IS A WILDCAT AT HEART. As the saying goes, “Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat!!” Or the one that says, “I may wear Red, but I will always bleed Blue!” So I guess She is both of those and
I would never call her a traitor even though I may really want to, has to support the team where her kids will one day go! She sat directly across the field from us!
Even though they were on the other side wearing RED (boo) her youngest son asked her that morning if he could wear his Wildcat under his Tigers shirt because that is what Connor would want him to do!!! So super sweet, that boy is!!!
In the end, we didn’t win. The score was 17-6. But I do have to say that this is one game that we can say the REFS helped us lose it. And we have it one FILM!!!!! There were some bad calls made that, well, were just plain bad!
Those Wildcats have much to be proud of even though they didn’t win. The Tigers didn’t run all over them like they thought they were going to and the Wildcats gave them a BIG run for their money.
